This article aims at analyzing the cosmopolitan doctrine not only as a philosophical view but also an accurate perspective for understanding the structural changes in a globalized world. Therefore, the cosmopolitan view appears to be the most suitable perspective for this new transnational reality.La globalización está generando cambios radicales en los procesos políticos, sociales y económicos que afectan a diversas dimensiones a las organizaciones humanas. En un mundo crecientemente interdependiente, parece necesario profundizar sobre perspectivas teóricas y políticas que permitan entender las dinámicas globales que inciden directamente en los procesos de desarrollo. Para ello, el presente artículo analiza los principales postulados de la doctrina cosmopolita en tanto se trata no sólo de una postura filosófica sino también de una perspectiva adecuada para entender las transformaciones estructurales derivadas del proceso de globalización.
