Summary: This paper analyses the civil and political rights recognized by the new Bolivian Political Constitution. First, it studies the catalogue of civil rights that include new rights not previously covered by the Bolivian Constitution, notably the right to cultural self-identification. Second, it examines the articulation of the political rights and the intercultural and community democracy, as characteristic features of the new Bolivian Constitution. Finally, it concludes that the new BolivianPolitical Constitution is an important step forward in the conception of a plurinational State, making it a point of reference for other Nations within Latin American and other continents.
