Summary: This article aims to examine the International Criminal Court and its importance to humanity. This Court, established by the Rome Statute in 1998, entered into force in 2002 when it was deposited the sixtieth document of ratification required for initiating the work. The paper has no intention in exhausting the subject because of the many subjects that this involves, however, as far as possible, its makes a general presentation on the different views and positions on the issue. The research was based in the available bibliography looking for a qualitative analysis of the proposed topic.
