Summary: |
Research ethics in and with human beings originates from biomedical research. Its development was determinant in
the bioethics beginning, and its contributions made that ethics concerns were extended to other types of research.
Although this is an undeniable contribution, the result has been a persistent tendency to apply biomedical paradigm
to other disciplinary areas. CIOMS Guidelines for Epidemiological Research 2009 clearly show this tendency, which
evidence the need of building a public health research ethics, whose meanings, senses, and practices are defined
inside of the same area. |
