The second part of this text talks about national issues throughout three different examples: the European identity seen as supranational, the issue on the Romi minority in Western Europe, and the current situation of the indigenous communities in Colombia and Mexico both struggling between their national and tribal loyalties. The author�s conclusion is that identities are not disappearing, rather, they are showing a great diversity and complexity that have always coexisted in human history.En la primera parte del artículo se presentan analíticamente los más importantes enfoques del debate teórico sobre la idea nacional, la identidad nacional y las identidades que se dan hoy en día en el mundo contemporáneo. La segunda parte del texto retoma la temática nacional a través de tres distintos ejemplos: la identidad europea vista como supranacional, la cuestión de la minoría de los gitanos en Europa Oriental, y la situación de las comunidades indígenas en Colombia y México puestos entre la lealtad nacional y la lealtad tribal.
