Summary: Human trafficking is a serious problem that, in its various forms - sexual exploitation, forced labor and removal of organs - is in the form of transnational organized crime, affecting every country in the world. Apparently, the increasing political integration, economic and social activity is one way to attempt to minimize the human trafficking. In the case of the Southern Cone Common Market - Mercosur, efforts have been made to both by its States Parties (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay), as they ratified the Palermo Protocol. Within this framework, this study aimed to examine the measures adopted within Mercosur in a way to protect and promote the rights of trafficked persons. To accomplish this work, the emphasis has been descriptive and analytical study, by means of literature and documents. Note that only Brazil and Argentina have adopted specific policies on trafficking in persons. Given this, it was found that the States Parties of Mercosur develop actions to protect and promote human rights of trafficked persons, not counting even some specific public policy.
