Summary: From any exploratory or analytical viewpoint which the academic world seeks to adopt, it is aware that its own nature and situation obliges it to maintain close links with efforts to strengthen the subject of human rights, especially as this is an exercise aimed at advancing professional training, education and research in any of the various fields of human knowledge. This is not a random statement or spontaneous intention to link the university education system to activities related to human rights issues or international humanitarian law. This articles main objective is intended to examine the academic worlds role and that of the university in strengthening human rights and studying how such institutions can contribute towards the formation of the different actors who will ultimately be involved in resolving various problems in this area as presented in Colombia.
