Ondoren, egileak azaltzen du zer ez den Europa edo zer ez den izan behar; azken finean, Europaren xedea bakea bera izan behar da. Zuzenbidearen Euskal Akademiak ezin du, ildo horretatik, ahantzi Europa badela izan eta zuzenbidearen iturri garrantzitsua dela; hobe da, beraz, aurrea hartzea eta Europako zuzenbidearen inguruko ikerketak hainbat bidetatik bultzatzea.

We can not confine ourselves to Basque law, or even to Spanish law, and ignore European Law; on the contrary, a new world is opened up for legal experts. While giving a brief history which justifies the birth of Europe as we perceive it today, and that the law had a special value as a unifying element, the author reflects on what Europe is not or what it should not be, as its ultimate aim is none other than peace. The Basque Academy of Law cannot ignore the fact that Europe exists and is today an important source of law; on the contrary, it is best to forge ahead and give impetus to its study by multiple channels.El autor invita en su texto recibir con todos los honores a esa ilusionante y viva realidad que es Europa. No podemos encerrarnos en el Derecho vasco, ni siquiera en el español, e ignorar el Derecho europeo; al contrario, un mundo nuevo se abre a los juristas. Tras hacer un breve recorrido histórico en el que se justifica el nacimiento de Europa tal y como la concebimos en la actualidad, y en el que el Derecho tuvo un especial valor como elemento unificador, el autor reflexiona sobre lo que no es o no debe ser Europa, puesto que su fin último no es otro que la paz. La Academia Vasca de Derecho no puede tampoco ignorar el hecho de que Europa existe y es hoy una importante fuente de Derecho; al contrario, es mejor que se adelante e impulse su estudio por múltiples vías.AVD - ZEA.
