This paper searches out the reasons why a war is declared and waged. In order to access the necessary information, the head researcher and the students resorted to documentary sources. War did not precede the State, it is a recent scourge; 2). War is basically a product of cultural evolution; 3). The warriors� psychological traits always hide behind the material causes of war.Este artículo investiga las razones que llevan a que se declare y se inicie una guerra. Para obtener la información necesaria el investigador principal y los estudiantes recurrieron a fuentes documentales. En esta investigación se utilizaron tres métodos: el descriptivo, el histórico y el analítico-deductivo. Las conclusiones más importantes a las que se llegaron son: 1). La guerra no precedió al Estado, pues se trata de un flagelo de reciente aparición; 2). La guerra es fundamentalmente un producto propio de la evolución cultural; 3).
