However, the obsession with preserving security, on the one hand, and with avoiding the use of asylum for irregular immigration aims, on the other, bring about the persistence in some cases, and new emergence in others, of measures which are questionable, if not hardly compatible with the Geneva Convention relating to the Status of Refugees.La presente contribución tiene por objeto el análisis de la nueva ley reguladora del derecho de asilo y de la protección subsidiaria. Adoptada con la finalidad de adaptar nuestro ordenamiento a los desarrollos experimentados por la política europea de asilo, la nueva norma introduce mejoras incuestionables, en especial, la regulación del estatuto de protección subsidiaria y su práctica equiparación al derecho de asilo.
