The author propones applying the rhetorical concepts of inventio, dispositio, repetitio, descriptio, gradatio, transitio, metonymy, example, centrality, topics, etc., which are characteristics of literary narrative, to the genre of visual narrative. From this perspective, he analyses the illustrations of the Cantigas 18, 122, 142, 169, 209, 235, 257, 299, 256, and 292. He also analyses those incomplete illustrations from Codex Fwhich provide grounds for discussion. On occasions, he offers credible proposals forthe completion the illustrations that are missing and concludes with the hypothesis of the intercommunication between poeta and miniatusistson whatprinciples of rhetoric should be considered lo order to make of the cantiga a credible visual nanative |
