Summary: In this report, we will be looking at how sex, gender and sexuality impact on the everyday lives of people with dementia, irrespective of their sex, gender identity and sexual orientation, to be treated with respect and to have access to timely diagnosis, treatment and good quality care and support. We will not be addressing issues related to the impact of biological sex on the development and progression of dementia or on biomedical research or drug development. These are important issues which are currently being addressed by biomedical researchers in the field of dementia, but beyond the scope of this report. We will be teasing apart issues related to sex, gender and sexuality even though these concepts are inter-related. It is not always clear whether certain issues are related to sex or gender (especially in cases where the two concord)
