Summary: In this paper, an approach to repression is made at the moment social movements begin in Mexico, towards the second half of the 1950s, prior to the student movement of '68. The objective focuses on characterizing the confrontation between the State and the, then, new manifestations of popular struggle; The hypothesis that is based on that repression is the organized response of the political system to stop this confrontation with the population that starts its organization in search of alternatives because the existing ones, including the revolutionary socialist bloc, were already showing limited and dominant.
