In higher education, teaching strategies are not an unequivocally defined term, that is, they cannot only be explained or interpreted in one way. However, in most cases they are related to activities planned for a successful organization in the learning process. The strategic beginnings are implemented by the teacher, determining their position and that of the stu-dents, the role of the teaching content, the choice and exchange of teaching methods and procedures, in order to achieve competencies. Methods and procedures are generalized patterns of behavior that can be applied in different areas of teaching. In order to acquire competencies, it is necessary to use active teaching methods and procedures that include the emotional and intellectual involvement of the student in the learning process, with the integration of cognitive and prac-tical activities and the responsibility to learn by themselves. Currently there is a growing trend towards competency-based education with. The following research process reflects on the attributes of competency-based education, its domains, and teaching approaches for effective competency-based teaching and learning.

Contudo, na maioria dos casos, estão relacionadas com actividades planea-das para uma organização bem sucedida no processo de aprendizagem. Os princípios estratégicos são implementados pelo professor, determinando a sua posição e a dos estudantes, o papel do conteúdo do ensino, a escolha e o intercâmbio de métodos e procedimentos de ensino, de modo a alcançar competências. Os métodos e procedimentos são padrões generalizados de comportamento que podem ser aplicados em diferentes áreas de ensino. A fim de adquirir competên-cias, é necessário utilizar métodos e procedimentos de ensino activos que incluam o envolvimento emocional e intelectual do aluno no processo de aprendizagem, com a integração de actividades cognitivas e práticas e a responsabilidade de aprender por si próprios. Los inicios estratégicos son implementados por el docente, determinando su posición y la de los estudiantes, el rol de los contenidos docentes, la elección y el intercambio de métodos y procedimientos de enseñanza, con el fin de lograr las competencias previstas. Los métodos y procedimientos son patrones de comportamiento generalizados que se pueden aplicar en diferentes áreas de la enseñanza.
