These dysfunctions have been amplified by a process of fragmentation of the structure of the companies, fragmentation due to different factors, among which are the phenomenon of outsourcing and the development and massive extension of new technologies. Faced with this, several proposals for legal reforms of enormous interest have been formulated. After framing all these questions, this paper aims to contribute more elements to the debate on the desirable reform of the concept of work center, thanks to the exposition of French law on the matter.Son de sobra conocidos los disfuncionamientos provocados por la equiparación, muy consolidada, del centro de trabajo con la unidad electoral en cuanto a la constitución de la representación de los trabajadores, especialmente en las empresas de estructura compleja. Estos disfuncionamientos se han visto amplificados por un proceso de fragmentación de la estructura de las empresas, fragmentación debida a diferentes factores, entre los cuales están el fenómeno de la externalización y el desarrollo y la extensión masiva de las nuevas tecnologías. Frente a ello, se ha formulado varias propuestas de reformas legales de enorme interés.
