Summary: This article aims to analyze the Critique of Law based on the main characters of three major theoretical contemporary movements: Critique du Droit (France), Critical Legal Studies (United States of America), and Rechtskritik (Germany). In this sense, this study did not seek to carry out a mere inventory of critical theories of Law, but rather propose a theoretically-oriented revisit to critical thinking that allows the identification of its epistemological roots. This identification may allow the contemporary Critique of Law to reflect on its reach in the face of the current social scenario’s challenges. As for the methodology, the present research carried out a critical analysis based on the knowledge shared by different theoretical matrices, using a literature review.
