The beginning of the 21st century has presented the existing relationship between the process
of globalization and populism. Some authors linked to the social sciences have participated for decades in
the process of defining both phenomena. However, the texts that have tried to study deeply the existing relationship between populism and globalisation have not been too many. The article deepens on both
notions, undoubtedly relevant at present, to identify the interaction (and feedback) existing between both
political processes. The final objective would be to propose, once the diagnosis was made, a series of measures
that would help to stop the populist advance. This advance has put liberal-democracy in a difficult
situation endangering the structure of rights and freedoms in a large number of countries. |
