Sumario: The interaction between individuals and technology, and the constant creation of digital products and services requires the permanent use and access of personal information. Therefore companies are requested to keep an active role in what refers to the protection of consumer privacy. Privacy by Design emerges as a movement which promotes that companies, in addition to comply with the law, should implement privacy throughout different processes of the organization, as well as the assurance of the protection of privacy by default, whenever the consumer uses the service or product. Technology is not a threat against privacy likewise, privacy is not an obstacle against technology's development.
