La legislación ecuatoriana ha establecido medios de defensa conducentes para evitar el cometimiento de actos de provocación ya que el propósito es impedir que el presunto culpable y su víctima se relacionen, además el análisis médico del estado de salud mental es ineludible para con ello conocer si existen anomalías biológicas que afecten el comportamiento.
