Sumario: This article addresses the Colombian armed conflict and its consequences, with regard to women. For this purpose, a historical-documentary description is made ofthe evolution of the conflict and an analysis of how it has produced differential effects onwomen. Situation that can be evidenced by means of statistics, reports, stories, journalisticnotes, and in testimonies identified in key sentences of the Constitutional Court. One ofthe main findings shows how the internal armed conflict affects women in a differentialway, through mechanisms or instruments of war that respond to patriarchal characteristicsof Colombian society. This results in the development of a series of victimizing facts, such as sexual abuse, sexual slavery, death, torture, forced pregnancies and abortions, displacement, physical and psychological violence, among others. These facts have beenused as a method of war by the armed groups outside the law and by certain sectors of thepublic force, in a premeditated and systematic manner.
