TY - JOUR T1 - Importancia de la formación para la prevención de accidentes en el lugar de trabajo A1 - Zapata Escobar, Andrés Mauricio YR - 2017 UL - http://biblioteca.ararteko.eus/Record/dialnet-ar-18-ART0001269860 AB - This article addresses a problem in the field of occupational safety, which is that despite policies to promote safety and health at work, statistics show an increase in occupational injuries. International organizations promote safety and health at work, with the purpose of reducing injuries and ensuring the health and well-being of workers, provided that autonomy and self-management are developed from a culture of safety. However, the reality is that occupational injury and illness statistics runs contrary to the desired reduction of injuries and promotion of welfare, as the main cause of these work injuries are unsafe acts of the worker, particularly in the construction sector. Workplace-based training in safety and health, with the aim of improving self-care, represents an opportunity to reduce injuries and promote worker welfare.
