Young people engage in gangs as a means to safely steal and quickly learn criminal
techniques. These gangs may have a leader and interchangeable members; however they
remain together due to friendship, ethnic origin or kinship. The primary age group
of gang members ranges generally from 13 to 19 years, the age when the individual
becomes involved in crime only by himself. His type of crime relates to minor
acquisitive crime (theft, mugging and robbery). |
