This paper exposes the legal framework of the independent agencies that guarantee its «independence», and judges if this aim of independence has been satisfactory achieved and which was the cost of it, especially from the democratic perspective, because independent agencies work apart of the democratic mechanism of responsibility, political control and legitimacy.En este trabajo se analiza la relación existente entre los partidos políticos y las denominadas «autoridades independientes», instituciones a las que se les ha querido dotar de una considerable autonomía frente al Gobierno para el desempeño de una función determinada, con el argumento de que esas funciones deben ejercerse al margen de los partidos políticos.
