Finally, this work comments on some of the consequences the abdication of Juan Carlos I and the succession of Felipe VI have caused and can cause in the future inside the Spanish Royal Family.El grave descenso de la monarquía y del Rey Juan Carlos en la opinión pública por diversos motivos han determinado finalmente su abdicación de la Corona. Se examinan en este trabajo diversos aspectos de la abdicación (caracteres, procedimiento, institutos próximos, como la inhabilitación por motivos de salud y la renuncia de derechos sucesorios), así como el estatuto garantista del que se ha dotado al Rey abdicado, inédito hasta ahora en Europa.
