The model is thus becoming higher centralized at the federal level, while betting at the same time on federalism with enhanced sub-national tools.En las últimas dos décadas el sistema mexicano de revisión constitucional ha experimentado grandes cambios. No sólo importantes revisiones constitucionales a nivel federal han conferido mayores poderes a la Suprema Corte de Justicia, sino que también se han diseñado mecanismos de control constitucional en el nivel subnacional, otorgando ese poder a cuerpos semiespecializados como las Salas Constitucionales —o hasta Tribunales Constitucionales— dependientes de los Tribunales Superiores de Justicia.
