Summary: It examines the changes of politics in regard to the exercise of women rights, the scope of those changes and the challenges ahead. The autor states that the progress made in this área is not due to concesssions by politicians, the openness of a vote “market” to be disputed or to the conscience of political leaders regarding the fact that the exclusión of women is not politically sustainable, and it is ethically unsustainable. On the contrary, it consders that these are accomplishments of female organizations and movements, female politicians, activists and social leaders rather than achievements of politicians. The article focuses on parity and alternance in legislative elections which is a key scope of political representation or representative democracy in the challenges that involve the political organizations, and in ways in which the limitations on the application are trying to be overcome within the context of the Bolivian experience
