The current political, social and economic situation we endure is evidence that we are at the end of an era, which we won’t come out of until we adopt old and out-of-step solutions
to new problems. This process happens in all scopes, even in the judicial field where a lot of changes are needed. The construction sector’s crisis has proved that apart from the unbearable unemployment, there are also structural problems in the economic sector. A change of paradigm is needed to confront this problem and others too if we want the few economic sectors which Europe gave us after entering into the CEE in 1986 (tourism and the construction sector which supports it.
The idea was that we would be a theme park for the rich northern Europeans) to reincarnate as a Phoenix bird, although it can never be the same as before.
In the future, we can no longer think that everything is going to be the same as the end of
the 20th century or the beginning of the 21st century.
All jobs which up-to-now have been sustained with a simple and not well-trained labour will
no longer exist if we don’t take on this change which should be implemented in the rest of the country’s structures if we want it to remain.
This situation, if we are able to take advantage of it, will benefit the housing sector. If we
industrialise the construction sector in the same way that Henry Ford did in his day for the vehicle production, manufacture workshop and specialised labourers, which created stability in the work scope and well-trained workers, therefore achieving a social stability with a more sustainable upkeep of the Welfare State and a housing quality and price which would benefit the entire Spanish society. |
