Laburpena: On the occasion of his entry into force in Spain, this study analyzes the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence, which was signed on May 11, 2011 in Istanbul, highlighting their general characteristics (it's a convention on human rights, sex equality and assumed gender perspective), and the concepts used (violence against women, gender violence and domestic violence), and analyzing their content (integrated policies and data collection, prevention, protection and support, substantive law, investigation, prosecution, procedural law and protective measures, migration and asylum, international cooperation), and their surveillance agency (Group of Experts on action againts violence against women and domestic violence)
