This work tries to explain the penitentiary reforms during the first Peronism (1946 -1955). With this intention, after realizing a description of the principal changes in this matter, we will try to demonstrate that the mentioned process was not the result of a mutation in the scientific paradigm that one was coming developing in our cultural area, from ends of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century (positivism criminologist), but it was the product of an extension of the welfare policies that the government was implementing, as part of his agenda, respect of social vulnerable se ctors. |
