Against Gaus, I claim that justificatory liberalism remains agnostic about the property of production means (whether it should be public or private) and is compatible with more egalitarian versions of capitalism such as those that draw on Rawls’ and Dworkin’s theories of justice.Keywords: Gaus, socialism, redistribution.O trabalho critica duas conclusões de Gerald Gausa cerca do liberalismo justificador em The order of public reason, a de que o socialismo é insuscetível à justificação pública e a de que a diversidade de padrões avaliativos dos Membros do Público limita consideravelmente as possibilidades de políticas redistributivas.
