Summary: During the development of the public notariate in Castile, the chapter of San Salvador de Oviedo still authenticated its documents with the traditional means: chirographs and seals. These were the first symptoms of the development of the public scribes of the Church of Oviedo, entitled with full fides publica by the beginning of the 14th Century. This paper will study the documentary production of this first scribe, aiming to understand him within the context of the development of the kingdom public notariate.
