Sumario:  Modern concepts of revolution and progressNotes for philosophical - historical analysis of the Colombian context twentieth century: therevolution in progress (1934-1938) Events and concepts with they are named are elements of history. It can be viewed fromModernity how both elements coexist reciprocally in history because, first one: men use theconcepts of their linguistically baggage to name actions, experiences and desires; secondone: concepts enlarge its semantically content when, in this linguistically articulationprocess, they are used to name human actions charged with a novel sense: never thoughtnor made before; so, the concept that names them gets enlarged to include the novelelement. It is deducted that concepts have history and reviewing that history allows tounderstand how concepts are coupled and used to name and to relate some events andhistorical moments. For example, to analyze the concepts of Revolution and Progress, and to extract notes that allow to understand how it was possible that they passed theColombian political history in the first half of XX century.
