Summary: This is an attempted to empirically test different theories of juvenile delinquency based on data from a survey of selfreported crime in Swiss schools (ISRD-2). The results have helped to identify the profiles of two types of criminals: specialized criminals and versatile criminals. The research has been guided by the following question: specialized and versatile criminals have different profiles according to different theories explaining juvenile delinquency? The results describe the differences and similarities involving the two groups of criminals and have the respective profile of each.
