AB  - The 216 article of the Colombian Constitution states that all Colombians are forced to take up arms to defend national independence
and public institutions. The displacement of people in the area of Montes de María reminds the wave of terror
across Colombia. This research narrates the violent events in the municipality of San Jacinto Bolivar from 1997 to 2002.
Also, it attempts to highlight reflection of state sovereignty and the role of the security forces in their fight for control and
territorial order in the region, in collaboration with the community.
