It focuses on regional and county parties and points out certain issues of the law aiming to urge local participation. Also, this article gives forth several recommendations on possible amendments.Este trabajo presenta un análisis sobre recientes investigaciones relacionadas con los partidos políticos a escala local. Señala la importancia jurídica de los partidos en el marco constitucional, su papel como medios de participación ciudadana, y la influencia del diseño institucional de los sistemas de elección en los resultados que obtienen. Realiza un especial enfoque en los partidos regionales y cantonales.
