Although sometimes is victim who decides to emigrate, coercion, violence or swindle is always present in this offence, usually commited by organized criminal rings.La trata de personas es actualmente un importante problema criminal para los estados, configurándose como el segundo gran negocio ilegal, por encima del tráfico de drogas y superado sólo por el tráfico de armas. Se concibe como el tráfico de personas para su explotación ilegal desde un país de origen a un país de destino. Clásicas prácticas de este delito son el tráfico de mano de obra, o el destinado a la prostitución o explotación sexual de la víctima.
