This article reviews some of the concepts discussed in the literature and the evidence for the case of Mexico and argues that there is not a clear cut case to state that there is a crisis of representation.La crisis de representatividad es uno de los temas en el análisis político que cobra vigencia en México y América Latina debido a la mala evaluación que hacen los ciudadanos de los partidos políticos, de sus autoridades electas democráticamente y, en particular, de los legisladores. Este artículo revisa algunos de los conceptos vertidos a propósito de la representatividad y de los representantes, y evalúa si, como se afirma, en la actualidad hay una crisis de representatividad en nuestro país. El artículo concluye que, con la evidencia que se cuenta, es difícil contestarlo.
