Summary: Due to current public negative perception towards political parties, elected authorities and deputies, there is a growing body of literature studying the crisis of representativity in Mexico and Latin-America. There is also a growing body of evidence suggesting that citizens do not feel represented by their authorities; that their voices are not heard and that in general they do not trust their elected representatives. This article reviews some of the concepts discussed in the literature and the evidence for the case of Mexico and argues that there is not a clear cut case to state that there is a crisis of representation.
