For this reason, this article seeks to highlight a technological perspective in the context of educational institutions by addressing theoretical and conceptual items on the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) by educational managers, in order to streamline their management. The approaches outlined in this paper are framed within the review and analysis of documentary material inherent to the issues discussed. Among the main considerations discussed is the necessity to develop educational policies and activities aimed at providing infrastructure and at conditioning information and communication technologies, relevant and appropriate to the needs, characteristics and objectives in an integrated manner, so as to be used as tools to support both the teaching and learning processes and the management processes.Hoy en día, las exigencias del entorno, necesidades de los docentes y estudiantes, aspectos curriculares, didácticos y la comunidad en general, ameritan de una gerencia educativa innovadora, competitiva, con capacidad de respuesta, solución de problemas oportunamente y pertinentes a la diversidad de necesidades y cambios que implica la educación como fenómeno social. Por esta razón, el propósito del artículo está orientado a destacar una perspectiva tecnológica en el contexto de la gerencia de instituciones educativas, mediante el abordaje de elementos teóricos-conceptuales sobre el uso de Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación (TIC) por parte de los gerentes educativos, con el objeto de hacer más eficiente su gestión. Los planteamientos que se esbozan en este trabajo, están enmarcados en la revisión y análisis de material documental inherente a los aspectos tratados.
