AB  - This article is looking forward to make a general presentation of the different alternatives that consumers can have in order to get their damages repaired when they are caused by defective products. It has to be said that this paper is a descriptive analysis of the current situation of the legislation that has been enacted about this issues, and also this paper will permit to do specific studies of different subjects within this topic. In first place, this paper analyzes the contractual liability caused by defective products emphasizing in the basic characteristics that products must have once they are put into the market, the quality requirements and the penalty that the entrepreneurs must face if they do not fulfill with this rules. At the end of the document, the author makes a study of extra - contractual liabilities caused by defective products making a comparison between different national legislations that have adopted laws in order to get consumers protected.
