Summary: It is expected to analyze the behavior of the constitutional control in normative acts of the regional authorities performed by the Supreme Court from 1853 to 1860, within the frame of the deepening wave of the second partial transformation, the Republicandemocratic constitutional State, using as an example the concrete content of the constitutional justice in the first period of the liberal transformation in the Republic of Nueva Granada and the Grenadine confederation. The text is divided into three parts: the first referring to the constitutional control by legal means as an inherent element of the republican-democratic State and the historical peculiarities of the constitutional justice in Colombia. The second part deals with the fundamental characteristics of fundamentalism in Colombia and the sovereign revolution. The last one talks about the concrete tension between provincial or co federal acts and the evident concern of the Supreme Court to defend, extend and deepen the powers of the central government.
