To this regard, the author begins seeing the steps given within the European integration and the difficulties found and then he analyzes the possibilities opened by the Treaty of Lisbon. In this sense, the Teatry of Lisbon reinforces the role of the High Representative for Foreign Affairs, and the charge of Vice Presidente of the Commission; that has to contribute to give a greater visibility to the European diplomacy. In this framework, the author also shows that advances made in the integration and delineated by the Treaty itself concerning the Europe of Defense (PESD) may encourage the Union to achieve a position of greater presence on the international scenerey, providing her with militaries resources for her ambitions.En el presente trabajo se analizan los avances que supone el Tratado de Lisboa en relación a la Política Exterior y Seguridad Común de la Unión Europea; y ello desde la percepción de cómo la Unión Europea no ha conseguido, al día de hoy, un rol sobre la escena internacional equivalente al peso económico que ostenta. Es de este modo que la autora comience viendo los pasos dados al respecto en el seno de la integración europea, así como las dificultades halladas, para a continuación analizar las posibilidades que abre el vigente Tratado de Lisboa.
