From this judgment a complete analysis of the procedure is done until today and, with a contextualization background of the decision issued in the delimitation between Nicaragua and Honduras on October 8, 2007, are reviewed a series of scenarios of the International Law that allow to the reader to obtain conclusions on what it approaches to future in this process.El 13 de diciembre de 2007 la Corte Internacional de Justicia reconoció en forma definitiva la soberanía de Colombia sobre las islas de San Andrés, Providencia y Santa Catalina, al mismo tiempo que dejó para un fallo de fondo la definición sobre otras formaciones territoriales (Roncador, Serrana y Quitasueño), así como sobre la delimitación marítima entre Colombia y Nicaragua.
