Summary: This article deals with the fulfillment of norms and legal procedures which make part of the geological risks management during the execution and exploitation of building and infrastructure works in the municipality of Santiago de Cuba. The existent social and managerial lack of discipline for the making of building works without scientific and technological appropriate knowledge, as well as the lack of knowledge of the current geotechnical and seismic regulations and norms, among others, for the building and infrastructure processes, is the main causes of geotechnical risk. The authors intend to provide a written memory as a management tool for the building projects carried out in Santiago de Cuba
