AB  - In this investigation, which serves as an introduction to the seminar on the conflict of laws organised by the Basque Academy of Law, the need to draft Basque civil law, in order to safeguard Basque provincial civil law is emphasised. At the same time, it justifies the liberal character with which the draft bill of that law has been drafted, by the Academy, taking into account the major challenges that are raised in terms of International Law. A clear example of all this, are both issues, that very pragmatically and in accordance with the times, are discussed in greater detail, namely, the regulation of a single Basque neighbourhood and the articulation of the rules of conflict of laws.
