It was the emergence of socialism in the political scenario, represented by the Socialist Party. This article shows some traits of political identity which emerged in the way of executing politics by the new political party. Their political rhetoric and discourse allow deducing the kind of political ideas which were arising around the new left during the 20�s of last centuryEn Colombia, con la fundación del Partido socialista en agosto de 1919 en Bogotá, se instalan en forma organizada las orientaciones y la ideología socialistas que por el momento escandalizaban a los gobiernos conservadores e inquietaban las toldas del liberalismo, de tal manera que líderes del bipartidismo se empezaron a preocupar por las ideas del llamado bolcheviquismo que pretendía expandirse por el país y por América Latina. Se trataba de la aparición en el escenario político del socialismo, representado por el Partido socialista. Este artículo presenta algunos rasgos de identidad política que se fueron configurando en la forma de hacer política en la naciente agrupación partidista.
