Summary: In August 1919, the Socialist Party was founded in Bogotá, Colombia, and the socialist ideology and orientation were settled and were deemed as a scandal for conservative governments and perturbed the liberal party in such a way that leaders of both parties started to concern about the Bolshevik ideas intended to be disseminated in the whole country and in Latin America. It was the emergence of socialism in the political scenario, represented by the Socialist Party. This article shows some traits of political identity which emerged in the way of executing politics by the new political party. Their political rhetoric and discourse allow deducing the kind of political ideas which were arising around the new left during the 20�s of last century
