Summary: |
The main aim of this paper is to show de similarities and differences
between Spanish and Portuguese constitutionalism during the first half of the
19th century, including their mutual influences as far as the facts, the ideas and,
overall, the constitutional texts are concerned. For such a work a comparation
between those constitutionalisms is not enough; it is also neccesary to put them
inside a wider context of a comparative constitutional history, mainly in the
British and French ones. An undoubtely more difficult approach, and perhaps
that is why it is much less used by Spanish and Portuguese historiography. |
