AB  - From the moment the basin of Lago de Valencia (Valencia Lake) was declared in
emergency, the constitution of an Environmental Educational Plan, considering the opinion
of the key actors from Aragua and Carabobo States, was established as a priority.
The most prominent of the guidelines were the dissemination and promotion of legal
standards, the support of communities to municipal governments in the implementation
of programs and projects, the registration of industrial and commercial activities most
likely to degrade the environment and the implementation of management plans for residual
and waste treatment plants. Similarly, some important aspects were also settled:
The training of multipliers to reactivate the environmentalists meetings, the ecological
agriculture by producers, the establishment of an early warning network the curricula
adjustment and the support of the media to inform the citizenship about these issues and
their solutions.
