Seven Constitutional court judges voted in favor of its constitutionality, one against and one recused himself.El 24 de julio de 2008, la Corte Constitucional profirió sentencia sobre el Acuerdo de promoción comercial entre la República de Colombia y los Estados Unidos de América, sus Cartas Adjuntas y sus Entendimientos, y su Protocolo Modificatorio, aprobados por el Congreso de la República de Colombia, por medio de las leyes 1143 de 2007 (Julio 4) y 1166 de 2007 (Noviembre 4).
